Identifying and explaining balanced scorecard strategic objectives in Iranian Banking Industry

Abstract

The balanced scorecard is one of the system management tools, which was first used for measuring performance and then has been used as an effective framework in strategic management. This research due to the importance of formulating strategy for one the most important part of the Iran sector economy has been defined, so the present research, made attempts to Identify and explain the strategic objectives of a balanced scorecard for banking of Iran. A mix method research methodology (quantitative-qualitative) was adopted. Statistical population and sample are banking industry and Iranian banking experts. First, in quantitative phase, 30 in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with banking domain experts and the GT approach has been conducted for summarizing and grouping data. Second in quantitative phase, the collected strategic goals were corroborated by collecting 100 domain experts’ ideas through questionnaires. The important results of this research are identifying and explaining seventeen strategic objectives for banking industry of Iran that is an innovation of this research.
