The impact of business intelligence on the decision-making quality of entrepreneurs with the mediating variables of information quality, data quality and innovation

Abstract

The most important need of an entrepreneur is to have accurate information to make the right decision. Business intelligence, through decision support at all levels of the organization, will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization and lead to sustainable development. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of business intelligence on the quality of entrepreneurs' decisions with respect to the mediating variables of data quality, information quality and innovation. The statistical population in the present study includes Commerce Chamber active entrepreneurs of Mazandaran Province. The questionnaire was randomly collected from 285 items. To analyse the data, modelling of variance-based structural equations using Mplus software was used. The results show that there is a positive and significant effect between the variables of business intelligence, information quality, data quality and innovation on the quality of entrepreneurs' decisions. The results also indicate that the variables of information quality, data quality and innovation have a partially mediated role between the two variables of business intelligence and quality of entrepreneurs' decisions. As a result, the most important need of an entrepreneur is to have accurate information to make the right decisions, and entrepreneurs can make the right decisions by using information tools such as business intelligence, information quality, data quality and innovation.
